Beastie

Where to begin....Some animals come into your life and their flame is so bright it lights up the world. That was Beastie. She was so tiny, emaciated, and sickly when I saw her at the livestock auction. She had been seperated from her family to be sold alone because she wasn't worth much in the food industry. I can't even tell you why I bid on her. She called to me and $20 later she was ours. She had a fever and slept for 24 hours straight. When she came around she was so full of life. She lived in our house and slept with our dogs. She loved to go for walks and to cuddle while watching T.V. From day one she was wrought with illness. She had an internal infection that she overcame. She had mange so bad we itched for weeks! Then she developed the ulcers. We tried everything and in the end it was just too much for her little body. Her ulcers perforated and she developed sepsis. She was humanely euthanized in my arms. Her life was so short but lives on in the many hearts she touched. She changed the way I view animals and I have been vegetarian since. I loved her like family and miss her every single day.
