Johnny
Johnny was found as a stray by Animal Control. He arrived with a body score of 1-2, grossly overgrown shod hooves, and intact. The shelter held him until his stray hold was over but when no one came to adopt him he found himself running out of time at a kill shelter. This gentleman of a stud arrived at TLER arrived 1/18/16 and began his rehab. He has some weight to gain, his hooves were trimmed 1/20/16, and he will be gelded 1/22/16. After that we will start getting him socialized so he can rehabilitate in a herd. He appears to be QH type, Stands 15H or so, ad is in his teens. He has saddle and cinch marks. So, safe to say he is broke. We will let him decompress and rehab. Then we will have him evaluated.
Johnny is found to have early stages of DSLD. He also has some deformity from an old broken shoulder. He will be a companion only horse and is looking for a home as a companion....where he can be pampered in his golden years. He does require previcox and TLER will happily cover the cost of previcox for him infinitely.
Update: Johnny's DSLD is progressing rapidly. He will remain with us as a sanctuary horse.
