Liebchen
Liebchen is an approximately 7 year old appy mare. She was found by Riverside Animal Control as a stray. She had an injury to the left eye. Shelter staff felt she would do better in a rescue/rehab environment. So, we brought her TLER. She did have to have what was left of her eye removed. Being a new injury, Liebchen wasn't accustomed to loss of vision on that side. Couple that with just not being very trustful of people and we felt it was best for Liebchen to go into pasture for a bit and just be a horse. She has come a long way and is used to her blind side. She has become a lo firnedlier and is now ready for her forever home. We have not had her evaluated under saddle et. So, stay tuned for that. She is looking for her forever home.
Liebchen is nicely broke under saddle. She is extremely sweet on the ground. The problems begin when in a halter and things are asked of her. She is not a mean or malicious horse but her past carries with it a lot of baggage. She has fear issues and is flighty(on the ground. She is great under saddle). She is not cooperative with picking up her feet and standing tied. She would love a home of her own but we want to be honest. She would need an experienced home with tons of patience to work with her through her fears.
