Shenanigans

Shenanigans came from the Kauffman, Texas processing center. She and her 4 week old colt were unlucky enough to land there. It is not legal to ship a baby. So, her little colt would have been made an orphan while mom loaded the truck headed to Mexico for slaughter. Marylou Yuskiewicz wasn't going to let that happen. She bailed these two and asked me to provide a safe place. Shenanigans arrived underweight with a very poor topline. She was distrustful and mean. She would not hesitate to come at you with teeth bared. Her hind end was just as bad and would strike out without warning. Can you blame her, though? In a matter of two weeks she had been taken from her home, brought to auction, sold to a kill buyer, taken to a feedlot, brought to a layover to await transport, and then finally arrived here. Her world had turned upside down. Over the few weeks she has been here, she has calmed down quite a bit. She is approachable but food aggressive. She stands tied, bathes nicely, leads nicely, and is learning to trust. She is at goal weight now which is great since she is nursing her little boy, Tortuga. Shenanigans is approximately 20 years old and will have plenty of time to just relax and be a mom now.
Shenanigans is thought to have been used as a broodmare but does appear to be broke to ride. Her ground manners are impeccable, she ties, tacks up, trailers, does everything asked of her. She has not been backed but this lady definitely klnows her stuff.
Adoption Fee:$500
