VELVET
Velvet is an approximately 3-4 month old filly. She arrived with her mom, Satin, 3/11/14. They were discovered by a Code Enforcement Officer residing in a junkyard backyard starving. The owner had passed away and the spouse was struggling to care for the horses. Surprisingly, Velvet is in great health. Her mother has not faired so well but did a good job keeping Velvet healthy. She has not been handled and will need to learn to trust humans. She and her mother will stay at TLER while Satin gains weight and Velvet receives some training. When Velvet is weaned she will be looking for her forever home. Stay tuned for updates!
Update: Velvet has made a 180. If she could crawl in your pocket she would. She has been doing fantastic with halter breaking and picks up all four feet. We just love her personality. She is ham.
Update: 10/15 This baby was born broke. She is the bravest baby I have met. She picks up her feet nicely, leads, is learning to move her hindquarters, and has no fear. She is a special one and will make a great Cowboy Challenge horse when grown.
